Christopher Unger

Chris graduated from Washington State University in 1992 with a major in Business-Finance. He went on to work as a banking loan officer in the Puget Sound area for several years before founding his own financing company in 1995 called Pacific Equity Group Inc. which specialized in funding real estate venture capital properties with private investors.

In 2015 the company name was changed to Pinnacle Equity Group with a dba called Seattle Loan Company through a partnership with Pinnacle Capital Partners in Tacoma. In 2017 It was decided that Chris would dissolve the partnership and retain the company with the original name Pacific Equity Group, LLC. A fresh new look, logo and structure were implemented in 2017.

Over the last 25 years, Chris has originated, underwrote and funded private real estate equity loans. He also has a long career as a Puget Sound developer focusing on commercial and residential raw land projects. Chris has been active in the Puget Sound commercial lending and development fields for more than 25 years. His primary expertise and focus is on private real estate equity financing.

Joe Toner
Senior Vice President

Joseph L. Toner began his real estate career in 2002 by becoming a licensed real estate broker in the State of Washington and after graduating from Saint Martin’s University with a BA in Business Administration, Marketing and Management. With a proactive approach to sales, Joe honed his skills by immersing himself in every possible sales opportunity from door knocking to prospecting to building sales funnels and ultimately business conversion system automation. Leveraging his experience, Joe has produced well over $100,000,000 in closed volume and has been ranked among the top 1% of brokers nationally.

Joe often utilizes his education from the University of Washington Construction Management program to help evaluate the details of projects for his clients and for himself, including renovations, sub-divisions, land development and new construction. In 2010, with extensive knowledge of sales pipeline creation, management and conversion, Joe created the foundation of the sales team which would become Commencement Bay Brokers, a residential real estate brokerage firm. In 2013, as the founding member and Designated Broker of Commencement Bay Brokers, Joe launched his team into a leading brokerage in Washington, as ranked by the Puget Sound Business Journal, producing volumes rivaling some of the top independent brokerages nationally.

Relationship Building

In 2016, Joe sold his interest in the firm. Joe credits much of his success in real estate to creating an environment where a relationship can be formed to help his clients achieve their goals for the given transaction and develop into a long-term relationship. Joe enjoys his involvement in the community with positons including the board of the North Tacoma Cooperative Preschool and on the Community Advisory Board for the American Cancer Society Pierce County.

Carl Skagg

Carl is a lifelong resident of the Puget Sound area. His expertise is in real estate. He maintains a real estate license and is actively involved in various real estate ventures. Carl has developed numerous commercial and residential properties in the Pacific Northwest over the last 35 years. He is often referred to as the guy that knows every neighborhood in the greater Seattle area.
Carl joined the our team in 2015 to assist in property valuations. His duties include market valuations for the properties we finance and researching permit activity. As office manager he handles the property inspections and maintains the verification records for the properties we finance. His duties also include periodic property updates on the property taxes, insurance and various permitting activities.

Nathan Peppin

Nathan Peppin
Real Estate Analyst

Nathan Peppin is the Real Estate Analyst at Pacific Equity Group. He’s a graduate of the University of Washington with a Bachelors in Accounting. He boasts 20 years of experience as a Realtor, Developer and (formerly) Mortgage Broker, and as such, he understands every facet of the real estate business.

Nathan extends his knowledge and expertise to his clients by personally walking them through each stage of the process. Communication is one of the keys to a successful transaction, and Nathan takes a tremendous amount of pride and gratification in performing at the highest level for his clients and always making himself readily available to them.
